Malhargarh is a `panchayat town` situated in the Mandsuar District of the central state of India, Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in the northern part of the Mandsaur district and is in the northwest of Mandsaur, the district headquarters at a distance of 25 km. The town is located between 24.28° North latitude and 74.98° East longitude at an average elevation of 458 metres (1502 feet) above mean sea level. It is well connected to other towns and cities in the state as it is strategically located near NH 79. The nearest airport is at Indore and the nearest railway station is the Malhargarh Railway Station on the Ratlam - Nimach rail route.

As per the 2001 India Census report, Malhargarh had a population of 7349. Males and females account for 51% and 49% of the population. In Malhargarh, 14% of the population is less than six years of age.
