Kosi Kalan

Kosi Kalan is a town located in Chhata taluk in Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh. It is on the Agra-Delhi highway (NH 2). Agra is about 100 km from here. This place is popularly known as the holy place of Braj (Vraj).

Kosi Kalan has got a rich history behind it. Experts believe that primitive name `Kush-van` which means grass forest in English has been shortened to become Kosi Kalan. To facilitate accessibility Kosi Kalan is well connected by rails, roads and airports. Railway Station, lying on the Delhi-Mathura main line, and also airport at New Delhi lie in vicinity.
