Kim is an Indian graphic novel that is based on the adventure novel written by Rudyard Kipling and is published by Campfire Graphic Novels in 2009. The publishing house is based out of Delhi and began publishing in the year 2008. The graphic novel brilliantly visualizes and illustrates the story of Kim who leaves his childhood home along with a Buddhist lama and eventually embarks on various adventures as a spy. Kim is exceptionally illustrated by Rakesh Kumar and the feelings and expressions of the protagonist, and expressions, are presented in graphic details. Content of Kim
Kimball O`Hara is the central character in the Indian graphic novel. Kim, the orphaned son of an Irish soldier, lives on the streets of India, like several others, during the early 1900s. During the course of the story he meets with a Buddhist lama and becomes his disciple. The story then follows the various adventures of the fun loving central character as he travels across northern India and journeys from Lahore to the vast and majestic beauty of the Himalaya Mountains. Although Kim and the Buddhist lama have separate objectives, but the paths they follow are rather similar.
During his stay at Lahore, Kim encounters with a friend of his father who entrusts him with a very special message. Eventually he meets up with a member of the British Secret Service and finds out unimaginable and hidden secrets. As the story progresses, the journey of Kim continues and he begins to gather more information about what is known as the Great Game.
The story portrays the growth of Kim from a simple vagabond in India to an expert operative in the perilous world of politics, betrayal and death. The adventures of the male protagonist occur in the setting of a beautiful land which is pregnant with astonishing sights, captivating sounds and an enormously rich culture.
