Ketaki Shetge

Ketaki Shetge is an eminent Odissi dancer who has sharpened the Odissi repertoire under the guidance of Jhelum Pranajape.

Ketaki Shetge, Indian DancerKetaki Shetge is a veteran dancer and teacher and her assignation with classical dance started with bharatnatyam at very young age. Ketaki has also been very fortunate to learn from the Great Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra during his summer workshop`s conducted in Mumbai as well as Odisha quite a few times.

Early life of Ketaki Shetge
At a very tender age, Ketaki Shetge has shown her interest in the Indian classical dance. She has been persuaded towards the traditional art form Odissi by its magnetism. This eventually led her to start training in Odissi under the expert tutelage of Guru Smt. Jhelum Paranjape of `Smitalaya`. Ketaki has undergone training for 9 years. She has passed the Nritya Visharad of Gandharvya Mahavidyalaya in first class.

Awards and performances of Ketaki Shetge
Ketaki Shetge has also bagged the honor of receiving guidance from the legendary Padmabibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. She has attended the summer workshop conducted by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra in Mumbai as well as Orissa. At present Ketaki Shetge has been working as the faculty member at the main branch of Smitalay in Santacruz,Mumbai.

Apart from that she is also conducting classes at `Nritya Nikunj`. She has performed at most of the productions composed by `Smitalay`. Her some noteworthy performances in the field of Odissi dance are: NCPA, Mumbai; Swami Haridas Samaroh, Mumbai; Swarna Yuva Mahotsav (organised by the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi); Singar Mani Kal-ke-kalakar and 3rd International Odissi Festival.

At the Kala Ghoda festival, Hampi festival, the Hare Krishna Festival at Vrindavan etc. and all over India, Ketaki Shetge has exhibited her performances along with her Guru in group. In the dance ballet `Narmada`, Ketaki has performed the lead role. Her guru Jhelum Paranjape choreographed this dance ballet.
