Kaup beach is located in Udupi district on the Western Coast National Highway near the town of Udupi in southern Karnataka. Kaup beach is situated at a distance of 12 kilometres south of Udupi.

Kaup Beach, also known as "Kapu Beach" is renowned for one of the most peaceful and pristine beaches in Karnataka that tourist can come across. Kaup Beach is prominently well-known to house an old lighthouse that was apparently built in the year 1901. The lighthouse is open for visitors for the period of certain time in daytime and the panoramic view offered is wonderful. The lighthouse presents a wonderful sight of the complete Kaup Beach and seashore.

Besides the lighthouse, Kaup Beach also has wrecks of Jain Basadis that line across the stretch of sand, and these are worth a visit without any doubt. Kaup Beach is the place for two Hindu temples dedicated to the Goddess Mariamman. The best time to visit Kaup Beach is from October to December. Kaup Beach also has tiny shacks and eateries where one can test a bit of the local cuisine.

The nearest airport of Kaup Beach is by the side of Mangalore. After that, people have to make a journey by road. The nearest railway stations are at Udupi and Mangalore. Kaup Beach is a 25minute journey from the town of Udupi. The West Coast National Highway between Udupi and Mangalore is best accessible by road for Kaup. There are regular buses that carry out between Kaup to the other cities and towns of India.
