Dogri is the locallanguage of Katra and Urdu and English are the official languages of here. Hindus represent 93 percent of the population, while Muslims, Christians and Sikhs etc.

Tourism in Katra
The shrine of Mata Vasihnodevi or "Trikuta Bhagwati" has been a symbol of hope and the realization of millions of devotees from all over the world. The pilgrimage of the shrine holds great importance for the pilgrims. Vaishno Devi is a famous Indian goddess. Devotees have to climb up 12 kilometres to visit the shrine.

Visiting Information of Katra
Katra has been connected by roads and state highways for a long time but recently it has also been connected by Indian Railways. Jammu Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Railway Link connects the Katra railway station of Northern Railways to the rest of Indian railways network.
