Kantilal Bhuria is an Indian politician and is the representative of Indian National Congress. He is a former Cabinet Minister and has also worked extensively for the welfare of backward sections of the society.

Kantilal Bhuria, Indian PoliticianKantilal Bhuria is a renowned politician of India and represents the Indian National Congress. He was the Minister of Tribal Affairs of the Republic of India till July, 2011. Led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the year 2009, Kantilal Bhuria was promoted to the rank of Cabinet Minister in the Government of United Progressive Alliance. He has been the in charge of several important positions in the Indian politics.

Early Life of Kantilal Bhuria
Kantilal Bhuria was born on June 1st, 1950 in Mordundia, Jhabua (Madhya Pradesh) to Late Nanu Ram Bhuria and Late Ladki Bai. He graduated from the Chandrasekhar Azad College in the Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh and took his Masters Degree from the University of Ujjain. He has earned the degree of M.A. and L. L. B during his academic life. He is an agriculturalist as well as an advocate by profession.

Political Career of Kantilal Bhuria
Kantilal Bhuria initially was designated as the District President of Congress Seva Dal, district of Jhabua from 1976 to 1977 following which he held many other significant positions in the Indian political arena. In the year 1998, 1999 and 2004, Kantilal Bhuria was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Jhabua constituency of Madhya Pradesh. In the year 2009, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Ratlam constituency. Previously Kantilal Bhuria was the Minister of State in the Ministry Of Agriculture and the Minister of State in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He has been the member of 12th Lok Sabha, 13th Lok Sabha and 15th Lok Sabha. He has held a number of important positions throughout his career. He has also extensively worked for the upliftment of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and poor people.

Other Ventures of Kantilal Bhuria
Apart from politics, Kantilal Bhuria has also been involved with other organizations. He has served as the President of Chandrashekhar Azad College, Jhabua from the year 1973 to 1974. Since 1980 to 1981 he has been a Senate Member of the University of Ujjain. The Executive Meeting of Asia Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development, Japan, was also attended by him.

Kantilal Bhuria is married to Kalpana Bhuria since 19th November 1981 and the couple has 2 sons. He has also been an athletics champion in the Vikram University in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
