Early Life of Jyotsna Suri
On the academic front, she is an alumnus of the famous Lawrence School, Sanawar and has graduated in English Honours from Miranda House College, Delhi University.

Career of Dr. Jyotsna Puri
Jyotsna Suri has been associated with Bharat Hotels since its inception in 1987, as the Group`s Joint Managing Director. She took on the mantle of Chairperson & Managing Director of Bharat Hotels in the year 2006 and since has been the driving force of the Group`s operations across India.

On November 19, 2008 she charted a highly successful brand change for the company. All luxury hotels now fly `THE LALIT` flag under The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, as a tribute to the Founder Chairman Mr Lalit Suri. Dr Jyotsna Suri has been holding various portfolios with the Industry Associations namely - Chairperson of the FICCI Tourism Committee (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) for the last four years and the only woman to do so, Chairperson of the CII`s J&K Taskforce on the `Revival of Kashmir`, The only Indian member on the International Executive Committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Executive Member of Hotel Association of India.

Dr Jyotsna Suri has been holding various portfolios with the Industry Associations that includes - Chairperson of the FICCI Tourism Committee (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) for the last four years and the only woman to do so, Chairperson of the CII`s J&K Taskforce on the `Revival of Kashmir`, The only Indian member on the International Executive Committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Executive Member of Hotel Association of India.

Other Activities of Jyotsna Puri
She is also known for her promotion of Indian tourism. A multifaceted personality, she is a patron of art, culture, sports and education. She has been working closely with trusts like The Subros Education Society, SAVERA, 24/7 Women`s Security, SEEDS (skills training and educations for the needy), KHUSHI, DISHA, The Blind School and The Spastic Society and others.

* Honorary Degree of `Doctor of Laws` from the University of Warwick UK
* World Travel Market Global Award (2011) in recognition of her leadership of the Group and promoting tourism
* ADTOI Award 2011 for her contribution to Domestic Tourism
* Award from the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music Culture amongst Youth

Late lalit suri, hotelier was the husband of Jyotsna Suri. She has three daughters and a son.
