Jyotiraditya Scindia is the Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and one of the prominent members of the 15th Lok Sabha.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Indian PoliticianJyotiraditya Scindia is an Indian politician and a Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He is a member of the Indian National Congress as well as the member of the 15th Lok Sabha. He is the descendant of the Scindia family and the Maharajah of the formerly princely state of Gwalior. He represented the Congress party and a Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The Scindia family is the direct descendent of the Maratha Empire which ruled the country during the 17th-18th century. After the 15th Lok Sabha elections representing the Guna constituency, Jyotiraditya Scindia was appointed as the Cabinet Minister.

Early Life of Jyotiraditya Scindia
Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia was born on 1st January, 1971 to Madhavrao Scindia, an Indian politician and Madhavi Raje Scindia, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He studied in Campion School, Mumbai and later at the Doon School. Scindia completed his B.A. in Economics from Harvard University in the United States, in 1993 and later did M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, in 2001. After completing his education, Jyotiraditya Scindia worked as an investment banker for multinationals like Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. He also had the opportunity to work with the UN Economic Development Cell as an intern. Along with a brilliant academic career he also has a course in car racing from USA.

Political Career of Jyotiraditya Scindia
Jyotiraditya Scindia began his political career in 2002. After the death of his father, Madhavrao Scindia in an air crash he was elected as the representative of the Constituency of Guna. Thus, Jyotiraditya Scindia`s entry into active politics was not a matter of choice but by chance. He won the Indian General Elections of May 2004 from the same constituency becoming one of the youngest members of the 14th Lok Sabha. After the 15th Lok Sabha elections, Scindia became one of the Cabinet Ministers. He holds the office of the Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. At present, Jyotiraditya Scindia is also serving as the President of the Board of Governors of Scindia School in Gwalior.

Jyotiraditya Scindia has also been associated with many other activities. He has been the Chairman of, (i) The Scindia School; (ii) Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association; (iii) Madhav Institute of Technology & Sciences; (iv) Samrat Ashok Technological Institute; and (v) Scindia Devasthan Trust & others. He served as the Director of (i) Scindia Investments Private Limited, Mumbai; and (ii) Garware Petrochem Limited, Mumbai. He was a Member of the Board of, (i) Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya; (ii) Indian Public School`s Society; (iii) Nehru Yuvak Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and (iv) SPIC MACAY. Scindia was a Campaign Manager of , All India Parliamentary Elections, Gwalior; Financial Analyst, Morgan Stanley Aisa Ltd., Hong Kong and Mumbai; Summer Associate, Raza Foundries, INC., San Jose; Summer Intern, (i) United Nation, New York; and (ii) Merrill Lynch, Los Angeles. He also had keen interest in sports and has been the Member of, (i) Delhi Golf Club; (ii) DLF Golf Course; (iii) Classic Golf Course; (iv) Delhi Gymnkhana; (v) India International Centre; and (vi) India Habitat Centre.

Personal Life of Jyotiraditya Scindia
Jyotiraditya Scindia is married to Priyadarshini Raje Gaekwad Scindia of Baroda. His wife is engaged with the management of the Usha Kiran Hotel. The couple has 2 children; the elder one is Mahanaryaman Scindia, who was born in 1995 and Ananya Raje Scindia, who was born in 2002.
