Josyula Seetharamaiah is a Kuchipudi dancer and performer as well as a great instructor. He was born in a family of traditional actor-dancers in Kuchipudi village, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, in the year 1923. Seetharamaiah received basic training in the dance-drama from Tadepalli Peraiah Sastri and further studied the intricacies of abhinaya from Vedantam Lakshminarayana Sastri. He also learnt and mastered music and Bharatanatyam.

Josyula Seetharamaiah started performing various roles from the early age of 14. In 1959, he joined Ghantasala Government Music and Dance College at Vijayawada, Krishna district. Seetharamaiah taught there for 16 years and later established 2 Kuchipudi institutions, namely Nrityakalaniketan and Nrityakalanjali, in Vijayawada. Josyula Seetharamaiah has been bestowed with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in the year 1993.
