Jolarpettai is a small settlement situated in the Vellore district of the southern state of India, Tamil Nadu. The Jolarpettai Junction Railway Station, which is an important railway junction in the Southern Railways, is the nearest railway station and the nearest airport is the Chennai International Airport.

Yelagiri, which is a quaint and beautiful hill station, is at a distance of 14 km. from Jolarpettai. A major attraction of this town is the Vainu Bappu Observatory, which is located at a distance of 46 km. from Jolarpettai.
