Jintur is a city located in the Parbhani district of the western state of India, Maharastra.

Jintur is a city located in the Parbhani district of the western state of India, Maharastra. The municipality looks after the local administration of the place. In the olden days Jintur was known as Jainpur. It is a picturesque place surrounded by the Sahyadri Mountains. Geographically, the town is located between 19.62° North latitude and 76.7° East longitude at a height of 455 metres (1492 feet) above mean sea level.

Jintur is the home of fourteen ancient temples which includes seven cave temples. The seven cave temples have the idols of Bhagvan Mahaveer, Bhagvan Adinath, Bhagvan Shantinath, Bhagan Neminath, Bhagvan Parshwanath, Nandishwar and Bhagvan Bahubali.The famous temples of Jintur is the temple of Bhagvan Parshwanatha where Jintur - Bhagan Neminath Cave Temple the idol of Bhagvan Parshwanatha is placed on a small stone. The temple is four hundred years old and the idol is also known as Antriksh Parshwanatha. Jintur also houses the ancient temple of Rajulmati. In the north of Jintur at a distance of 3 km. there is an ancient Jain temple called Nemgiri.

The Indian census report which came out in 2001 states that Jintur had a population of 38,109. Males and females account for 52% and 48% of the total population. In Jintur, 16% of the population is less than six years of age. The census report also puts forward the literacy rate of the place. The average literacy rate of Jintur is 63% which is higher than the national average literacy rate which is 59.5%. Out of it, the male literacy rate is 63% and the female literacy rate is 56%.
