Jafarpur is a census town in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

Jafarpur, West BengalThe town of Jafarpur is located in the Barrackpore II CD Block in Barrackpore sub-division in the North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal. The town itself is part of the Kolkata Urban Agglomeration, which is basically a list of urban agglomerations or cities with a population above 100,000 as per the reports of the 2011 census.

Demographics of Jafarpur
As per the reports of the Census India 2011, the total population of the town is 19,062, out of which 9,724 were males and 9,338 females. The population of children between the ages of 0 to 6 years is 1,360. It has been noted that 96% of the Barrackpore subdivision lives in the urban areas and the has a population density of about 10,967 per sq. km. This subdivision has 16 municipalities and 24 census towns. The town of Jafarpur covers an area of 1.98 sq. km.

The infrastructure of the town is still developing with about 7 medicine shops, 8 primary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 secondary schools and 1 senior secondary school and 1 non-delivery sub post office.

The town of Jafarpur is located on the Kalyani expressway and the nearest railway station at Palta is situated nearby on the Palta-Ranaghat line. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is the closest airport at a mere distance of about 51 km.
