Hemant Pendse, Indian Classical VocalistHemant Pendse has been reckoned as the aspiring performer who has come to rule over the horizon of Indian Classical music. Hemant Pendse was born in Dhule and did his schooling in Bhusawal and Jalgaon. He is a Mechanical engineer from Jalgaon Polytechnic. But he always possess a passion for music, which ultimately led him to receive initial training under the expert tutor late Shri Manohar Betavadkar. It was his elder sister who always encouraged him to take up music.

Career of Hemant Pendse
Afterwards he underwent training under the Late Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. From the year 1978 to 990, Hemant Pendse used to live with his family. Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki is a versatile artist who possesses a rare quality of imbibing the intricacies of other gharanas. This unique style of learning and teaching has been instilled into his disciples. Hemant Pendse had performed in India as well as in abroad. He has made USA Tour in the year 2006 and the UAE Tour in the year 2006. He has also given performances in the highly esteemed festivals like the famous Sawai Gandharva Music Festival both in the year 1994 and 2006, which was held in Pune. Other than he has also performed at the places like Delhi, Goa, Kolkata, Mumbai. He has performed all most all over India.

Hemant Pendse has also composed many Bandishis and devotional songs to his credit. Santanchiye Gavi and Nave Shabda Nave Sur are to name a few. Most of them are composed in Guru Vandana. Through his execution he has mesmerized his audiences all over. His performances however fetched rave reviews from the art critics. He has been associated with Lalit Kala Kendra, which is the Centre for Performing Arts based in Pune University as a visiting Lecturer or Manad Guru.

* Nehru Centre Mumbai (organised by Amitabh Bachchan corporation Ltd.(A.B.C.L));
* India International Centre, New Delhi (Vasantostsav);
* Tata Theatre NCPA Mumbai; Pt.Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar, Pune;
* Chintamani Sangeet Mahotsav organized in the memory of Late Pt. C.R.Vyas (By Pancham Nishad);
* Saptak Nashik Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal.

Awards of Hemant Pendse
Acknowledging his talent he has been conferred Pt. Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar in the year 1997; Swar Zankar by Pt. Atul Upadhye`s Violin Academy; Manad Guru by Lalit Kala Kendra Pune University; Akashwani Pune B+ (B high graded Artiste); I.C.C.R (Indian Council for Cultural Relation) empanelment.

In the recent times, Hemant Pendse has conceptualised another musical extravaganza, titled Mharo Pranam, which will showcase popular classical singer, Meerabai, in varied compositions. Pendse has dedicated his success and achievements to his teachers for whom he has been enriched in music. He is still attempting to achieve higher levels of performance.
