Hargaon

Hargaon is a town that is located in the Sitapur district of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

In order to meet the demands of day to day requirements, the people of the Hatgaon too follow the trend of the district as a whole . Cultivation is the major occupation and the crops that are produced include rice, wheat, urad, sugarcane, groundnuts and mustard etc. Cotton and also woolen mills too have grown in the Hargaon and also in the nearby region.

There is a legend popular amongst the people of Hargaon . It is believed that the Harishchandra , the renowned king of Ayudhiya built Hargaon. In Hargaon , a pond also has been found. It is called `Suraj Kund` of `hindus`. Fairs and festivals too form an integral part of Hargaon. During the month of Kartik Poornima a fair is organized .
