Halvad
In the state of Gujarat, Halvad is a city in the Surendranagar district under the control of municipality .
Throwing light on its geographical situation, it can be said that the city of Halvad is situated at 23.02° N 71.18° E. Also it has an average height of 46 meters or 150 feet. There are certain other features because of which Halvad has drawn attention of so many people of India. Since the Halvad city is shielded by a temple of Lord Shiva in all the directions, it is also regarded as chotta (small) Kashi of India.

As far as the literacy rate of Halvad city, it has an average literacy rate of 60%, which is higher than the national average. National average is 59.5 percent. Out of it, male literacy rate constitutes of 68 percent, and female literacy is 51 percent.
Being an integral part of the Surendranagar district, this Halvad city too bear resemblance to the heritage of its culture as well as its occupational activities. As per the sources , several cotton and ginning facilities have grown in the Halvad city also. Other activities like textile bearings; ceramics, sanitary wares, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and plastics also have built up to a huge degree.
There are some historians who have cited several opinions about the city of Halvad and its growth. According to them , the city of Halvad is the ancient capital of Jhala Kings in Saurashtra. They also have claimed that the origination of Brahmin Samaj in Gujarat starts from the Halvad .
