Gudiwada Dibba

The Gudiwada Dibba is located in the Gudiwada village in Bhogapuram mandal of the Vizianagaram district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a small hillock which is situated on the banks of the east flowing river Gosthani.

Formed by two flat terraces, the upper terrace of the Gudiwada Dibba towards the east consists of Buddhist Stupa remnants and a small rock cut cistern. On the lower terrace which is on the west side, there are the remnants of a Buddhist Vihara and two ancient Hindu temples dedicated to Goddess Durga. At the west end, there is rock- cut steps jutting out towards the Gosthani River.

In the year 2012, explorations were done on the Gudiwada Dibba, which yielded an ancient Buddhist heritage site possibly of 2nd century BC. This site was documented by the State Archaeological department of Andhra Pradesh. Currently, the site has some semblance to the nearby Buddhist sites of Pavurallakonda and Thotlakonda.
