Goraya is a small town in Jalandhar District of the northern state of India, Punjab. The nearest railway station is the Goraya Railway Station, which connects it to other towns and cities in the state.
The 2001 India census report states that Goraya had 15,138 inhabitants. Going by gender, males account for 53% of the population and females account for 47% of the population. Eleven percent of the total population is less than six years of age. The town has an average literacy rate of the 74%. This is higher than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. Male and female literacy rate of the town is 77% and 70% respectively.
Goraya has several manufacturing unit which produces fodder-chopping machines, harvesting combines and axles of all kinds.
