Ghansor is a small town in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh. This town is situated 12 km. northeast of Kahani and 45 km. northwest of Mandla. Jabalpur is located at a distance of 120 km. in the north and Lakhondon at a distance of 40 km. in the west. The nearest airport is at Nagpur and the nearest railway station is the Seoni Railway station. The geographical position of this town is between 22.65° North latitude and 79.95° East longitude at a height of 582 metres (1909 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 census report, Ghansor had a small population of 6130 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 47% of the population. In Ghansor, 15% of the population is less than six years of age. Ghansor has an average literacy rate of 70% which is higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%.
