Gaurav Khanna aka Sharmaan, Indian TV Actor All the viewers of the small screen would be familiar with the name of Sharmaan Wadhwa, the street smart, mischievous and a bit irresponsible fellow who is always playing pranks with his on-screen mother Kumkum (played by Juhi Parmar). Well that is Gaurav Khanna for the viewers.

Recently he is also seen playing the lead male protagonist in the popular daily `Meri Doli Tere Angana`. In this soap again he plays a character, which is in total contrast to the earlier one. His role is of a serious, straightforward and no-nonsense boy. He is very calm and composed and has lot of dilemmas in life unlike the character of Sharmaan who lives life to the fullest.

The small screen audiences wonder with surprise at this acting potential at such early stages of his career. Acting happened to him by chance and then it became his full-time profession and his passion for lifetime. One day while he was working out at the gym one fellow thought that he was some model and offered him an ad campaign. He took up the assignment just for fun and what happened after that is the most glorious chapter of his life.

`Meri Doli Tere Angana` is the first lead role of Gaurav Khanna. He actually hails from Kanpur, which is situated in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He shifted to Mumbai to do his MBA in marketing and then started doing TV commercials just for the sake of earning pocket money. He claims that education is very important in life as it teaches one to adjust to various circumstances. After completing his degree he even worked in an IT firm for a year.

Fashion shows and modeling assignments kept on happening at frequent intervals. Soon after she got the offer to play a young and flamboyant character in the hugely popular soap called `Siddhant` which was produced by BAG Films. After that he acted in `Bhabhi`, the popular afternoon daily. When he wooed the audience with his performance in the soap he was called by the same production house to be part of another popular afternoon daily called `Kumkum` under the Balaji banner. Here he plays one of the characters of the second generation named Sharmaan, which clicked with the audience so well that he became a household name.

In the new soap `Meri Doli Tere Angana` however Gaurav Khanna plays a character who always faces a dilemma in life as he clings to his past. In this soap his character is known by the name of Ruhaan who is in love with Suhana (played by Mansi Deshmukh) who is portrayed as a simple girl in love with Ruhaan but suddenly disappears from his life to return later and get inter-connected with it again. He jumped to the offer simply because of the fact that there is some mystery to the character. He also claims that the role is not totally negative but has different shades attached to it. He is enjoying his new profession to the core and is also very confident about his future.
