Gates of Andhra PradeshGates of Andhra Pradesh show the examples of Kakatiya art and architecture. Kakatiya dynasty was one of the flourished South Indian dynasties whose capital was Orugallu, now known as Warangal. This Warangal is now termed as Warangal District of Telangana.

Andhra Pradesh was eventually conquered by the Delhi Sultanate in medieval era. Andhra Pradesh has a rich historical past. The archaeological evidence found from places by Archaeological Survey of India such as Amaravati, Dharanikota and Vaddamanu suggests that the Andhra region was part of the Maurya Empire after the downfall of Sixteen Mahajanapadas. Amaravati, now the people"s capital of modern Andhra Pradesh might have been a regional centre for the Mauryan rule. After the death of emperor Ashoka, the Mauryan rule weakened around 200 BC, and was replaced by several small kingships in the Andhra region. After that Satavahana Dynasty came into the power. After the downfalls of Satavahana Dynasty, Kakatiya began to rule the entire part of modern Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The royal gates which are located in Andhra Pradesh show the elegance of Golconda Sultanate art and architecture and the modern British art and architecture.

Chowmahalla Palace Gate Tower
Chowmahalla Palace Gate Tower was established by Asaf Sahi Dynasty. It is the gateway of Chowmahala Palace. Chowmahala Palace is a palace of Nizams of Hyderabad. It was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad while they ruled their state. Chowmahala Palace remains the property of Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah, heir of the Nizams of Hyderabad.

Kakatiya Kala Thoranam
Kakatiya Kala Thoranam which is also called Warangal Gate was built by the Kakatiya Dynasty. It is a historical arch in the Warangal district of Telangana. Warangal Fort has four ornamental gates. It was known as Kakatiya Kala Thoranam. The architectural feature of these historical arches of the Warangal Fort has been adopted as the symbol of the Kakatiya Dynasty and has been officially incorporated as the Emblem of Telangana for the state of Telangana. These gates or arches in the Warangal Fort are said to have similarities with gateways of the Sanchi stupa in Madhya Pradesh.
