Dogadda is a city in Pauri Garhwal state of the northern state of India, Uttarakhand. Dogadda was the hub of commercial activities of Garhwal before the emergence of Kotdwara.
Dogadda is located at 29.80 degree North and 78.62 degree East. It has an average elevation of 932 metres. Before emergence of Kotdwara, a place in Uttarakhand, Dogadda was the centre of industrial activities of Garhwal. In the year 1953, Kotdwara got connected via railway, which resulted in major businesses shifting base to the city, a position it continues to hold till date.
According to the 2001 census report, Dogadda had a small population of 2690. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46% of the population. In Dogadda, 13% of the population is less than six years of age. Dogadda has an average literacy rate of 78%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 82% and, the female literacy rate is 74%.
