Dhupjhora is an eco tourism spot in West Bengal. This place is located in Dooars, the northern part of West Bengal.

Dhupjhora has a number of tourist attractions like the Gorumara Jungle, the adjacent tea gardens, the meandering Murti River, the Tree House and the elephant camp itself are the attractions of Dhupjora. The entire Dooars range of jungles like Chapramari, Chalsa, Neora Valley, Chukchukia, Jaldapara and others are located nearby. Other tourist"s attractions in Dhupjhora are Bindu, Jhalong, Samsing, Suntaleykhola, Paren and other areas near the Dooars. The Elephant Camp where the Forest Department"s elephants are kept and cared for. These jumbos regularly check out the forest with their mahouts and forest guards for injured animals and miscreants. Tourists can enjoy elephant safari everyday either in the evening or morning. Crossing the Murti River on elephant back and entering the Gorumara Range is a unique experience. The elephants are brought to the Murti River for their daily wash around 3:00 pm. After their bath in the river, these elephants have their meal, where tourists also get a chance to feed them. Tourists can also visit a nearby carpet factory, roam around the adjacent tea garden or take a dip in the Murti River.
Visiting Information
Dhupjhora can be reached by hiring cars from NJP (New Jalpaiguri Railway Station) or Siliguri or Bagdogra. One needs to reach Lataguri and then drive straight for 10 minutes to reach the Rhino Crossing where one would find a statue of a Rhino and the Check post for Dhupjhora Elephant Camp on the right. One has to verify the permit here and enter the Elephant Camp. The Dhupjhora Elephant Camp is located adjacent to the Gorumara forest with a tea garden as its backdrop. The Murti River is a 10 minutes walk from the camp skirting a way through the fringes of the forest and crossing a few streams.
