Depalpur is ideally located in the Indore district, in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated 48 km. northwest of Indore. In the south of Depalpur there is a town called Betma and in the south west of the town is Dhar, the district administrative center of Dhar district. The nearest airport is at Indore and the nearest railway stations are the Indore Junction BG Railway Station and Indore Junction MG Railway Station. Depalpur is located at 22.85° North latitude and 75.55° East longitude. It is located at an altitude of 533 metres (1748 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 census report, Depalpur had a population of 15,200 inhabitants. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49% of the population.
