State Highway 19 passes through Chiknayakanhalli. The place is situated between 13.42 North latitude and 76.62 East longitude. The topography of the place is located at 804 metres (2637 feet) above mean sea level.

According to the 2001 census report, Chiknayakanhalli has a population of about 22,360 inhabitants. Males constitute 50% of the population and females also constitute 50% of the population. 11% of the population is less than six years of age.
