Chicalim is a town in north western end of South Goa district in Goa.

The nearest railway station is the Vasco da Gama railway station and the closest airport is the Goa airport. Curca, Goa Velha, Silidao and Bogmolo are the other towns located in the neighbourhood of Chicalim. People come here to see the Naval Aviation Museum and Mormugao Harbour.

According to the 2001 census report, Chicalim had a population of 7604. Males constitute 58% of the population and females 42%.10% of the population is less than six years of age Chicalim has an average literacy rate of 81%, which is higher than the national average of 59.5%. While the male literacy rate is 86% and female literacy rate is 75%.
