Bokajan is a town as well as a town area committee situated in the Karbi Anglong district in the state of Assam in India.
Going by latitude and longitude, the exact geographical location of the town is at 26.02° North and 93.78° E. It has a mean elevation of 138 meters (452 feet) above sea level. As revealed by the 2001 India census, 14,938 people out of which 56% are males inhabit the town, 44% are females and there are 12% children less than 6 years of age. Since 80% of the males and 68% of the females are literate, the town records an average literacy of 74%, which is considerably higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%.
Some of the main schools in the town of Bokajan are Kendriya Vidyalaya and Vidya Sagar. The industries are based on tea gardening, "sitnola" Gardening and bamboo. There is ample cultivated land. The Cement Corporation of India Ltd has one of its branches in this town. It is a government aided industry and is the primary means of livelihood for numerous people in the town.
