Bindiya Goswami, Bollywood ActressBindiya Goswami born on January 1962 was best known for her intricate Indian beauty. A popular Bollywood actress, she appeared in most of the commercial films from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Bindiya was discovered by superstar Hema Malini`s mother in a party who felt that there was a strong resemblance of this small girl to Hema and recommended her to film producers; she was just fourteen years old then. Bindiya Goswami`s debut Hindi film was "Jeevan Jyothi" where she shared her stage with Vijay Arora. Bindiya Goswami went ahead and soon became a successful actress starring for director Basu Chatterjee in Khatta Meetha (1977) and Prem Vivah (1979). However, her biggest hit was with director Hrishikesh Mukherjee in the comedy Golmaal (1979). She also starred in the Ramesh Sippy`s hit movie Shaan opposite Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Parveen Babi. She acted in many other movies which faired at the box office.

Bindiya Goswami has taken up a career for designing costumes for female actresses such as Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor for her husband J.P. Dutta`s films, such as Border(1997), Refugee (2000) and LOC Kargil (2003). Bindiya gave up her acting career to marry director J.P. Dutta. The couple has two daughters, Nidi and Siddhi.
