Badnagar is a city in Ujjain district in Madhya Pradesh.

Badnagar is a town as well as a municipality situated in the Ujjain district in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. Ujjain District is a district of Madhya Pradesh in the heart of India. The district headquarters are in the notable city of Ujjain. The district occupies an area of 6,091 square kilometres and has a population of 1,709,885 according to the 2001 census (a 24% rise from its 1991 populace of 1,386,465). The bounding areas of the district comprises of the districts of Shajapur in the northeast and east, Dewas in the southeast, Indore in the south, Dhar in the southwest, and Ratlam in the west and northwest. The district is incorporated within the Ujjain Division.

The exact location of Badnagar is 23°2`23" North and 75°22`12" East. Badnagar has a population of 30,951 according to the 2001 census. Males and females respectively constitute 52% and 48% of the population. Badnagar has a mean literacy rate of 75%, quite higher than the national average of 59.5%. 55% of the male population and 45% of the female population are literate. 14% of the populations are children below 6 years of age.
