Condition of Badkhal Lake
As of May 2009, Badkhal Lake was entirely dried up to put down only lush grounds. The abnormally low rainfall in the area has been cited. Certain mines surrounding the lake are also accountable for overcrowding the water flow of Badkhal Lake. Various mineral water companies have also taken water from the lake for their own reasons.
In January 2010, the lake and the nearby Surajkund were filled up with water in combination with 2010 Commonwealth Games. However in March 2014, Delhi Parks and Gardens Society (DPGS) released a survey report under the Government of Delhi"s department of environment where it was mentioned that the Badkhal Lake was entirely dry and completely dependent on rains for water. The report also revealed 190 of 611 water bodies in Delhi had also gone dried out.

Badkhal Lake was once a huge lake, where boating and other tourist activities took place. Travelling birds were also used to visit the lake. Badkhal Lake has different sides. Shiva Temple and Shirdi Sai Baba Temple are two famous pilgrimage attractions near Badkhal Lake. Tourists from different areas visit the temple to obtain the blessings of Shirdi Sai Baba.
One more popular pilgrimage is Baba Farid`s Tomb. According to the faith, the city Faridabad is named after this Sufi saint. It is also said that the saint was the founder of the city. Aravalli golf course is an exclusive attraction. The golf course had organised a number of annual golf tournaments.

It takes just 30-minutes drive to reach Badkhal Lake from Delhi. Different local trains connect Faridabad to Delhi and nearby areas. Haryana Roadways has regular buses connecting the city to the neighbouring cities.
