The Tea Festival is held in several parts of the state but the major celebrations are done in the Jorhat district, which is well known for its extensive tea gardens and is the primary centre of tea industry.
The Assam Tea Festival is organised by the Assam Tourism Department and is held annually during the winter season between the months of November to January. The purpose of this festival is to celebrate the prosperity of tea and to take measures to protect and improve the production of the same. The festival is held with much enthusiasm and fervour and attracts tourists from all around.
