Art and Craft of BiharArt and Craft of Bihar consists mainly the Madhubani Art and Angika Art. The artisans of Bihar are usually dominated in the craftsmanship of these work art. These two arts are famous in Bihar and rest of country. Now a Days, the people come who come to visit Bihar is attracted by the Madhubani Art.

Mainly originated in Mithila region it had a robust tradition of wall paintings. Bihari women folk draw the paintings with the help of dyestuffs made from vegetables. Scenes of countryside, animal and human world, Indian deities are beautifully painted and Maithali paintings are d‚cor of residential houses of the people both in India and abroad.

Patna Qalam, an offshoot of Mughal Miniature School of Painting, regained its stature of high quality art by the artists of Patna, the capital city of Bihar. Patna Qalam is renowned for its soft colours and hand made papers and mica sheets .It underwent terrible downfall during the time period of 18th to 20th century. In fact the artists have incorporated their style and creativity into it. Mostly the Hindu mythology and the lifestyle of the common people are projected in this art.

Sujni embroidery, lac bangles, decorative utility products made from "Seenki", dried grass found locally. Cotton `dhurries` and drapes are orchestrated by the Bihari artisans of Patna and Bihar-Sharif regions. In Bodhgaya, the people have the expertise of creating fascinating leather items, statues, bamboo products like toys and baskets.

Silk Industry especially Tussar silks, is boom in Bhagalpur region of Bihar. They produce silk thread and weave them into marvelous artworks, thus making Bhagalpur one of the most proficient silk manufacturing centers.

Handicrafts are the major attractions for travellers here. Stone and beaded jewelry, miniature paintings, bamboo and cane work, leather items and others are quite popular buys.
