Anugrah Narayan Sinha was one of the great political leaders from Bihar.

Anugrah Narayan Sinha was born on June 18, 1887 .He was a very intelligent student . He passed the matriculation examination in the first division. He graduated in English honors from the Patna College. During his college days he was the Secretary of the Bihar Students Conference (established by Rajendra Prasad) and the Chanakya Society of the Patna College. Anugrah Narayan Sinha showed outstanding organization skill as a member of Patna congress. He obtained the M.A degree in 1951 and joined as a Professor of History in the T.N. J College Bhagalpur. As a Professor he earned great respect from the student. He arranged relief work during Bhagalpur floods. In 1916 he started legal practice in Patna. After few days Anugrah Narayan Sinha responded Gandhiji`s call and joined the Champaram Satyagraha.

During this time Anugrah Narayan Sinha was also the Professor of Bihar Vidyapith. In 1922 he was given the responsibility to organize Gaya Congress. In 1923 he was one of the General Secretaries of the All India Congress Committee and later he was elected as the General Secretary of the Bihar Congress Committee. In 1930 Anugrah Narayan Sinha took part in the Civil Disobedience Movement and was incarcerated by the British Government. In 1946 he was appointed as the member of the Constituent Assembly.After independence he became the first Finance Minister of Bihar. Anugrah Narayan Sinha was given the title -- Bihar Bibhuti.
