The musical competition, Amul Star Voice Of India is a popular musical show aired on Star Plus. This is the first season of this show and is hosted by the popular play back singer Shaan. The show is aired twice a week .It premiered on 18th May 2007. The show is directed by Gajendra Singh, creator of the famous Sa Re Ga Ma Pa series. The judges panel include music director Aadesh Srivastav, singer Abhijit Bhattacharya and Alka Yagnik and music director duo Lalit Pandit and Jatin Pandit. Shaan is hosting the Star Voice of India.
Auditions were held in many cities under the supervision of these five judges.Finally they selected 32 contestants who were again tested and they finally got fourteen but as they wanted last 12 so they again tested them.Every week the elimination procedure takes place in the first episode along with a performance in front of a celebrity judge and in the second episode the singers perform and appeal to the public to vote for them .The programme consists of two teams: The Agni team is hosted by Lalit Pundit and Aadesh Shrivaastav and the Prithvi Team is hosted by Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik while the Jatin Pundit remained neutral
Star Voice of India is a famous Indian Television singing competition on Star Plus channel. With the jumble of music reality talent hunt shows on television, it becomes difficult to differentiate one from another. Talent is the key, which set Amul Star Voice of India apart from the rest in its first season and brought singing talents like Ishmeet Singh Sodhi, Harshit Saxena, Abhaas Joshi, Irfan Khan, Toshi to the forefront. The show was created by Gajendra Singh.

The show is now in its second session. Auditions were held in various cities of India such as Kolkata, Ludhiana, Bangalore, Agartala, Ranchi, Indore, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi etc. from June 29, 2008 to July 06, 2008. 24 contestants were selected after the initial screening. The Star Voice of India second series got started on July 18, 2008 on Star Plus channel. It is aired every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. The show is produced by Saibaba Telefilms and is anchored by well-known Indian playback singer Shaan. It is being judged by renowned music composers Ismail Darbar and Monty Sharma and playback singer Sukhwinder Singh.
To strengthen the association with the viewers Amul Star Voice of India -2 aim to present the best singing talent from across India. The show features 24 talented singers from different states of India. They not only compete with each other for the coveted title of Star Voice of India 2 but also try to make the stage a combination of different colours, singing styles and traditions. All the participants always bring something new and unique to the show and that is the USP of the show as well. The whole nation will witness the struggle as well as transformation of the participants on their journey to the ultimate destination Amul Star Voice of India-2 title.
