Amarjit Singh Rana is a former Indian field hockey player and is also an Olympic gold medallist. He participated in the 1980 Olympics held at Moscow.

Amarjit Singh Rana is a former field hockey player and hails from India. He was born on February 3 in the year 1960 at Khusropur in the Punjab state of India. Amarjit Singh Rana has worked as a professional athlete and a hockey player. He was included in the Indian National Hockey team and participated at the 1980 Summer Olympics. The 1980 Olympics held at Moscow and India won the gold medal at the tournament.

India played a total of 6 matches of which, the team won 4 matches, and 2 matches were draws. The Indian national team scored a total of 43 goals. India played outstandingly well in the final match, which was against Spain. India beat Spain by 4-3, and finally achieved a gold win for the nation. Other than Amarjit Singh Rana, the team comprised of Vasudevan Bhaskaran as the captain, Rajinder Singh, Charanjit Kumar, Ravinder Pal Singh, Sommayya Maneypande, Zafar Iqbal, Bir Bahadur Chhetri, Mohammed Shahid, Surinder Singh Sodhi, Davinder Singh, Sylvanus Dung Dung, Gurmail Singh, Allen Schofield as goalkeeper and others.

Amarjit Singh Rana and 33 other former stars of Hockey team were felicitated by Hockey India (HI) with 2 lakhs rupees for winning gold medals in the previous Olympic Games.
