Dongargaon is a town located in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. Rajnandgaon, the district headquarters is located at a distance of 15km. in the northeast of Dongargaon. The nearest airport is the Raipur airport and the nearest railway station is the Rajnandgaon Railway Station. State Highway 7 passes through Dongargaon. It is located between 20.97° North latitude and 80.85° East longitude and at a height of 304 metres(997 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 census report, Dongargaon had a population of 11,571. Males constitute 51% of the population while females constitute 49% of the population. In Dongargaon, 14% of the population is less than six years of age. Dongargaon has an average literacy rate of 72%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 78% and, the female literacy rate is 64%.
Dongragarh, a pilgrim center in the district, is located northwest of Dongargaon.
