Situated in the Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, Dohrighat is a small town on the NH 29. Mau is situated at a distance of 42 km. north of Dohrighat and Indara is situated at a distance of 35 km. from Dohrighat. The nearest railway station is the Dohrighat railway station and the nearest airport is at Varanasi. The nearby towns include Madhuban, Ghosi, and Kopaganj which are well linked by road. It is located between 26.26° North latitude and 83.52° East longitude at a height of 66 metres (216 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 census report, Dohrighat had a population of 10,245 inhabitants. Males constitute 52% of the population and females constitute 48% of the population. In Dohrighat, 16% of the population is less than six years of age. Dohrighat has an average literacy rate of 60%, which is slightly higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 68% and, female literacy rate is 52%.
