Dod Ballapur is a town in the Bangalore
Rural district of the southern state of India, Karnataka
. Bangalore is situated at a distance of 35 km. from Dod Ballapur.The place is easily accessible from other parts of the district. Dodballapur Railway Station on the Bangalore-Hindupur railway line is the nearest railway station and the Bangalore International Airport is the nearest airport.
According to the 2001 census report, Dod Ballapur had a population of 71,509. Males constitute 52% of the population and females constitute 48% of the population. The town is well known for its silk weaving.
