Seppa, formerly known as Sepla, is a town located in the East Kameng District
of Arunachal Pradesh
. It is the headquarters of the district. The town is situated on the banks of Kameng River
at a distance of 412 km from Itanagar
and 213 km from Tezpur
. Seppa is mainly inhabited by Bangnis (Nyishi
and Puroiks (Sulung) tribal people.

According to the Indian census of 2011, Seppa had a population of 14,965 people, out of which 53 percent are males and 47 percent are females. Average literacy rate is 53 percent with 64 percent of male literacy rate and 41 percent of female literacy rate. 21 percent of the population is under 6 years of age.
