Located in the town of Nalgonda district of the state of Telangana, the Lateef Saheb Dargah is a Sufi shrine that is situated on a hillock. The devotees have to trek the hillock to reach the shrine. The festival of Urs celebrated here annually for 3 days brings in tourists and devotees of varied religion and social strata. The festival promotes communal harmony and amity among varied sections.
History of Lateef Saheb Dargah
Set amidst two hills, where the Lateef Saheb Dargah is situated, there is an over sized reservoir of water inside a hollowed rock. The Nalgonda district was under the reign of the Qutb Shahis till 1687, and later Azam Jah I defeated Mubasiz Khan at Berar, dominated the Deccan region of the other states over him and this district was within his rule for over around two centuries.
