Dharmabad is located in the Nanded district of the western state of India, Maharashtra. In the northeast of Dharmabad is Mudhol at a distance of 10 km. Basar is located at a distance of 12km. in the southeast. Biloli is a small town in the southwest of Dharmabad at a distance of 20km. from Dharmabad , Maharashtra.
The nearest airport is the Hyderabad Airport, while the nearest railhead is the Dharmabad Railway Station on the Mudkhed- Secunderabad rail line of the Southern Railways. Dharmabad in Maharashtra is located at a height of 359 metres(1177 feet) above mean sea level and between 18.9° North latitude and 77.85° East longitude.
According to the 2001 census report, Dharmabad had a population of 29,936 inhabitants. Males constitute 51% of the population while the females constitute 49% of the population. In Dharmabad, 14% of the population is less than six years of age. Dharmabad has an average literacy rate of 58% which is lower than the national average literacy rate which is 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 69% and the female literacy rate is 48%.
The Hazrat Nawab Sarfaraz Khan Sahid Masjid at Biloli built in the 17th century, a historic site, the famous Saraswati Temple at Basar, Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary and Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary are suitable short excursion sites in the neighboring Adilabad District, with easy access from Dharmabad.
