Dayal Pur is nestled in the North East District of Delhi. According to the 2001 census report, Dayal Pur had a population of 12,994 inhabitants. Male population of this place is 54% while that of the female is 46%. In Dayal Pur 16% of the population is less than six years of age. Dayal Pur has an average literacy rate of 72%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 79% but the female literacy rate is only 64%. However the literacy rate of the place is high because of the availability of educational facilities and awareness among the people.
