Nestled at the Nagpur district of Maharastra about 11 Km. north -west of Tumsar, Chicholi is a prominent city of Maharastra. This place is located 14 Km from Janab and is just 17Km North of Mohadi. The border of the Nagpur District lies 33 Km southwest of Chicholi and the fringes of Khat laces Chicholi. The Tumsar Road Railway and the Sinegaon Airport serves Chicholi.
Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhamragarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhandara Falls, Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary, Pench National Park, Muktagiri, Kanhen, Ramtek and Ambazari Lake, Sitabuldi Fort and Maharajbagh are some of the tourist places that are at the close vicinity of Chicholi, attract a lot of tourist every year.
The town is located at latitude of 21.47° North and at longitude of 79.68° East.The topography is 306 metres (1003 feet) above mean sea level. According to the 2001 census report,Chicholi had a population of 18,474.While males constitute 52% of the population females comprises of 48%.12% of the population is less than six years of age.Chicholi has a literacy rate of 79% which is higher than the average literacy rate of 59.5%.The male literacy rate is 83% and female literacy rate is 74%.
