Briksharopan and Halkarshan are known for its popularity. These two festivals are meant to conserve the tress and the plantation of the world. Briksharopan and Halkarshan are the two tree planting ceremonies, which are preceded by Halokarshan which means ploughing of land with the seeds. It is not only a festival but also has a greet meaning to save nature.
From the early 19th Century, these two ceremonies are successfully hosted by the students and the management of Vishva Bharati University located in Birbhum District of West Bengal.
