Early Life of Vaibhav Reddy
Born on January 7, 1980, in the capital Hyderabad of the present day Telangana, Vaibhav Reddy did his schooling from the Cambridge Matriculation Higher Secondary School on Lloyds Road and the prestigious St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, both in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He trained in acting at the Asha Chandra School of Acting in Mumbai and also with Sathyanand of Visakhapatnam.
Career of Vaibhav Reddy
Vaibhav Reddy made his acting debut in films in the year 2007, starring in his father A. Kodandarami Reddy’s Telugu directorial ‘Godava’, opposite Shraddha Arya. The film failed to do well at the box office. He next featured in Venkat Prabhu’s Tamil comedy-thriller ‘Saroja’ in 2008, alongside Shiva and Premgi Amaran. The film was critically acclaimed and became a commercial success, which garnered positive recognition to Vaibhav. In the subsequent years, Vaibhav Reddy was seen in Telugu films like ‘Kasko’ which was released in 2009. He worked with the same team of ‘Saroja’ in another comedy film ‘Goa’, which released in early 2010.
Vaibhav’s next release was ‘Easan’ by director M. Sasikumar. He then worked for the third time with Venkat Prabhu in ‘Mankatha’, co-starring Ajith Kumar, Ashwin Kakumanu and Arjun Sarja. The film released in 2011, generally to positive reviews while also garnering the second highest-grossing opening for a Tamil film, eventually going on to become a big blockbuster. He later appeared in Telugu film ‘Action 3D’, released in 2013, before playing his first solo lead role in Tamil film ‘Damaal Dumeel’, in 2014. In ‘Damaal Dumeel’, Vaibhav Reddy portrayed a typical software industry professional. He was next seen in the Telugu film ‘Anamika’, a remake of the Bollywood film ‘Kahaani’, also released in Tamil as ‘Nee Enge En Anbe’ in 2014. In the same year, he appeared in Tamil comedy film ‘Kappal’ and action comedy ‘Aambala’ in 2015. In 2016, Vaibhav appeared in the comedy horror ‘Hello Naan Pei Pesuren’, which received mixed reviews from critics. His action thriller film ‘Nibunan’, alongside an ensemble cast featuring actors Arjun Sarja and Prasanna was a Box Office hit. In 2019, his upcoming movies are ‘RK Nagar’, which is an Indian political comedy directed by Saravana Rajan and then there is ‘Kaatteri’ which is an adventure horror comedy directed by Deepak.
