![]() Early Life of Abhaas Mehta Born on January 10th, 1987 in Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Abhaas Mehta completed his high school education from a boarding school, after which he pursued a degree in Law from the University of Pune. He was trained in acting from a veteran actor Anupam Kher's acting school before he got his first show in 2009. Career of Abhaas Mehta Before bagging his first major role in a hit television series, Abhaas Mehta used to act in short films. He auditioned for various and eventually landed a role on the Colours TV show ‘Bairi Piya’, marking his television debut. This was followed by diverse roles in NDTV Imagine’s ‘Devi’ and Colors TV’s ‘Na Aana Iss Des Laado’. But Abhaas’ breakthrough wasn’t until the 2011 show ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?’ that aired on STAR Plus and wherein he created waves by portraying the negative role of Shyam. Abhaas Mehta was also seen as Betaal in Sony Pal's ‘Sinhasan Battisi’ and as Agasthya Kailash Asthana in Zee TV’s ‘Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan’. He also starred in Zee TV’s Hindi supernatural drama show called Brahmarakshas and played the character of Shumbh in the Hindi mythological television show called Mahakali on Colours TV.
