Sabroom is a town and a nagar panchayat nestled in the Tripura state of India. Sabroom is also spelt as Sabrum. Sabroom assembly constituency is part of Tripura East. The official languages of Sabroom are Bengali, Kokborok and English. However, the people mostly speak in Noyakhali, a dialect of Bengali Language.
Location of Sabroom
It is located in South Tripura district of Tripura. With an average elevation of 26 m, the town is settled on the banks of the river Feni, which separates India and Bangladesh.
Demographics of Sabroom
According to 2001 India census, the town had a population of 5766 of which the males were 52% and females were 48%. In Sabroom, 11% of the population was under 6 years of age. On the basis of the report, the town had an average literacy rate of 82%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. The male literacy was 86%, and female literacy was 78%.
