Early Life of Gayatri Joshi
She was born on March 20, 1977 in Nagpur in the Maharashtra state of India. First, she attended Mount Carmel High School in Nagpur. Next, she enrolled herself in the J.B. Vachha High School in Dadar when the family re-located to Mumbai. She received her degree in Commerce from Sydenham College.
Career of Gayatri Joshi
Joshi started her modelling career while she was still studying in the college. At that time, she modeled for brands like Godrej, LG, Ponds, Bombay Dyeing, Sunsilk, Philips, as well as with Shahrukh Khan in the Hyundai ad.She then participated in the 1999 Femina Miss India beauty pageant and was chosen as one of the five finalists. In the competition, she was crowned Sony Entertainment Chania-voted by viewers, and was chosen to represent India at the 2000 Miss International event in Japan. After this achievement, she returned to modeling and in 2001, she appeared in Seasons Catalogue and Calendar. Apart from modelling, she has also made several appearances in various music videos: She was seen in music videos of Mohit Bharadwajs Kaghaz Ki Kashti and Hans Raj Hans Jhanjaria.
She made her Bollywood debut in December 2004 in Swades: We, the People opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Written, produced and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film received strong acclaim from Indian film critics. The film also garnered lots of accolades and awards for Joshi.
Personal Life of Gayatri Joshi
Joshi tied the knot with Vikas Oberoi, Promoter of Oberoi Construction, on August 27, 2005. The couple is blessed with two children.
