Bhavana Ramanna is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in South Indian films. She acted in Shanti, a film that entered the Guinness Book of Records. She is the recipient of three Karnataka State Film Awards.

She has campaigned for the congress party for three consecutive years that is from 2012-2014 and was named one of the star campaigners for the Congress party in Karnataka in 2014.

Early Life of Bhavana Ramanna
She was born at Agumbe which is a small village at Shimoga district in Karnataka state of India. She was born as Nandini Ramanna before her name was changed by Kodlu Ramakrishna.

Film Career of Bhavana Ramanna
Bhavana stepped in the film industry with a Tulu film titled Maribale in 1996. The film helped her gain attention of the Kannada film producers, even though it did not do well in the box office. Her next venture was Kannada film Nee Mudida Mallige in 1997 which earned her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1999 she appeared in No.1 where she essayed the role of a cop. In the same year after her notable performances in these films, she got to work in debutant director Seetharam Karanth"s Chandramukhi Pranasakhi where she acted alongside Prema. The film failed at the box office but she received critical acclaim and the industry accepted her as a good actress.

She tasted success after working in Kavitha Lankesh"s Deveeri which also released in 1999. The film bagged her Aravindan Puraskar award. In 2001 she tried a different role. She enacted the role of a vamp in noted director K. V. Raju"s Rashtrageethe. After this, she was offered to act opposite Ramesh Aravind in Deepavali by Director and cinematographer of Malayalam films Dinesh Babu. This movie too failed to receive appreciation.

She tasted success again after appearing in Kavita Lankesh`s second film, Alemaari which made for the National Film Development Corporation. The film was previewed at many prestigious film festivals but was not released by Films Division. In 2004 she acted in an off-beat Kannada film Shanti directed by the noted writer Baragur Ramachandrappa which bagged her recognition in a grand manner. The film earned the rare distinction of being the second Indian film to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. It has entered the Guinness Book for in the category `Fewest actors in a narrative film`. Bhavana has also done a Bollywood film titled Family which starred Amitabh Bachchan.

Some of her other films include Anbulla Kadhalukku, Yellara Mane Dosenu, Kurigalu Saar Kurigalu, Ammaye Navvite, Parva, Ninagagi, Kshaama, Chelvi, Wrong Number, Hello and many others.

Political Career of Bhavana Ramanna
In her political career, Bhavana has mostly campaigned for the congress party. In the year 2012, she had campaigned for Jayaprakash Hegde of the Congress in the Udupi by-election to the Lok Sabha. Then in the 2013 assembly elections she had campaigned for Congress candidates in Davanagere among other constituencies. In 2014 general election, she did campaigning through road shows in several cities, including Bangalore, Belgaum, Chitradurga, Haveri and Hubli for Congress candidates.

•She was adjudged the "Best Actress" for her role in Bhagirathi.
•She bagged the Aravindan Puraskar award for her performance in Deveeri.
