Padmini Rout is a young chess player hailing from Odisha. She is the young representative from India in international chess arena. She also won a number of national, domestic and international a level accolades.
Early Life of Padmini Rout
Padmini Rout was born on January 5, in the year 1994. She is a chess player from Odisha. She holds the title of Woman Grandmaster. She was the winner of World Under-14 girls' championship in the year 2008. Padmini Rout has also won five Asian and four national titles.
Career of Padmini Rout
Padmini Rout studied at D.A.V. Public School, Chandrasekhpur, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Padmini Rout started playing chess at the age of nine, when it was 2003. She started to play chess because of her father's passion for the game. Padmini Rout participated in the girl's World Junior Chess Championship 2010 and finished third. In the year 2011, Padmini Rout finished third in the Asian Individual Women Chess Championship 2011.
Awards Received by Padmini Rout
Padmini Rout was honoured with the Ekalavya Award by Odisha Government in 2009.
She is also the receiver of a number of awards like Asian Youth Girls Chess Champion in 2005 and 2006, National U13 Girls Chess Champion in 2006, World U14 (Girls) Champion in 2008, The Continental Asian Junior Girls Champion in 2009, Third position in the Asian Junior (Girls U20) championship 2010, Third position in the World Junior Championship (Girls) (2010).
